Orthoptic Continuing Education Seminar Series 2012

The Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital / La Trobe University Clinical School of Orthoptics in conjuction with the Orthoptics Australia proudly present the Device Technologies Orthoptic Continuing Education Seminar Series.

This is an AOB approved activity primarily for clinical educators, the individuals and practices who contribute to the clinical teaching of orthoptic students and for members of the Association. The seminars present and discuss a range of clinical and professional topics inluding recent advances in research and new technology.

Orthoptic Awareness Week | Victoria | 9-13 March 2009

As part of the 2009 Orthoptic Awareness Week, VIC Branch is once again organising a breakfast at the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital. This year we focus on the Eye Play Safe campaign to raise the awareness and prevention of eye injuries in children.

The on-the-run breakfast will launch Orthoptic Awareness Week. Orthoptists, students, ophthalmologists, registrars and the public are all invited.

Workplace Seminar

During Orthoptic Awareness Week, VIC Branch will hold an evening Workplace Seminar. An update on the Health Professionals Service Award which relates to Orthoptists‘ wages and conditions will be provided, as well as discussion on issues such as negotationg your pay and professional indemnity insurance.

The seminar will be followed by a guided Twilight Tour of the River Red Gum woodlands and wetlands of the Melbourne Wildlife Sanctuary located at La Trobe University. So be prepared for an adventurous night....

November Workshop | Sunday 23 Nov 2008

VIC Branch is proudly organinsing the upcoming November Workshop. This will be held on the Sunday immediately prior to the Annual Scientific Conference on the 23rd and will focus on Glaucoma Monitoring and Diabetic Retinopathy Screening. The workshop will entail a lecture on each topic followed by a practical component with the opportunity for hands-on experience.
