 Why should I be a member of the OA?

The OA is the peak body representing the profession of orthoptics.  A professional association can only be effective with a strong membership base.  This allows the OA to have a voice and representation on peak bodies, with current representation on Classification, Allied Health Professions Australia, Health Union, GST, MedicarePlus, Allied Health Alliance, Association of Health Professions and the International Orthoptic Association.

By being a member, you are creating an association which:

  • effectively and widely represents its members’ interests to achieve successful outcomes;
  • enhances your professional career through networking with colleagues from interstate and overseas, as well as the broader eye health care community;
  • provides continuing education opportunities for members;
  • improves opportunities for members.
