Orthoptic Awareness Week 2009

EYE PLAY SAFE

This year Orthoptic Awareness Week focuses on EYE PLAY SAFE. This campaign aims to promote the awareness and prevention of eye injuries in children.

Eye injuries have dramatically increased over the last 10 years. An eye injury can happen in a split second and change the way a child sees their future. Most eye injuries happen in the home. Research shows boys aged between 3-9 are most at risk, although eye injuries can happen to any child. Eye injuries are preventable and the key is supervising your child, especially in and around the home.
