Membership Fee Structure

The Orthoptic Association of Australia is the national peak body for orthoptists in Australia. The Association provides a range of services including representation of orthoptists and their interests.

We recognise that our members are the Association. Without the support and work of members, we could not represent the profession or achieve our aims. As part of expanding our membership to facilitate the growth of our profession and thanking our loyal members, we have developed a new membership fee structure based on a rewards program.

The New Membership Fee Structure

The new fee structure is based on a loyalty program. Those who retain their membership for longer will be rewarded through a discounted membership rate. The new membership fee structure includes 3 levels: Gold, Silver and Bronze (see figure below).

Whilst the program is being implemented there will be an ‘amnesty period’ until 30 September 2008 whereby all students will have an opportunity to become a Gold Level Member regardless of previous membership status.

The new membership fee structure will take effect as of the subscription period commencing on 1 July 2008. Each year the membership period will extend from 1 July to 30 June.

Students: The Future of Orthoptics

Student_apple.jpg Orthoptic Students represent the future of our profession. The new membership fee structure aims to embrace these students from an early stage, introducing them not only to the Association but also to the direction and values of our profession. As before, students will be given a highly discounted membership rate. However, in the new membership fee structure a loyalty program is implemented for new graduates. This will mean that the longer a student has been a member, the greater the discount they will receive as graduates.
