Message from the President

Dear Colleagues,

Although the holiday season is often full of celebration, this year we are deeply saddened by the loss of lives and the ongoing devastation caused by the Australian bushfires. We are grateful for emergency services and any of our members who may have volunteered to help. Times like this unite us and bring out the best in people.

2020 will be a significant year for vision and through the Vision2020 policy committees, our OA representatives will have a busy year ahead.  For our association, the planning begins with various committee meetings and our first OA Council/Board meeting is in Sydney on 8 February. In the meantime, we are in the process of developing governance documentation to further support the new legal structure. This includes a Board Charter, policies and procedures and other relevant documents.

The new AOJ website is in the final stages of construction and the new design aligns with our website and the OA brand. Many thanks to Meri Vukicevic and Linda Santamaria who have been working hard with Elaine on design and functionality. We look forward to revealing that shortly!

The office has been uploading CPD content to Intuto, our new online learning management system. Thanks to Gareth Lingham from the Continuing Education Committee who has spent numerous hours converting our Journal Club article questions to multiple choice to use in Intuto. I invite you to login and visit the Online Shop to access many free CPD offerings for OA members.

Best wishes,
