Aims of the talk will be:

  • To summarise amblyopia treatment studies and key points of the studies

  • To share updates in management of intermittent exotropia and infantile esotropia

  • To share updates in the role of imaging for the work up of strabismus

 

Dr Shivanand Sheth is an ophthalmologist who specialises in the management of strabismus in patients of all ages. He also has a special interest in neuro-ophthalmology. He graduated from Medicine at Mumbai, India in 2007 and completed his ophthalmology training from BYL Nair Charitable Hospital and Topiwala National Medical College, Mumbai after which he undertook further advanced training/ fellowships in paediatric ophthalmology, strabismus and neuro-ophthalmology in India, USA and Australia. Dr. Sheth regularly presents at ophthalmology conferences around the world and has been published in international ophthalmology journals. He is also the recipient of the International Scholar Award and International Ophthalmologist Education Award by the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO) and the McCartney Prize by the Royal College of Ophthalmologists, London, UK. He was awarded the fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists (FRANZCO) in 2016. Dr Sheth is a paediatric ophthalmologist at The Royal Children’s Hospital. He also has appointments to the Ocular Motility Clinic (squint) and Neuro-ophthalmology clinic at The Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital. He is involved in teaching, clinical and surgical training of ophthalmology registrars and fellows, along with mentoring medical students. His expertise covers most aspects of paediatric ophthalmology, along with strabismus and neuro-ophthalmology in patients of all ages.

 

Registration is free but essential for catering purposes. Open to orthoptists, ophthalmic nurses and technicians.

AOB approved activity accredited for 2 CPD points/seminar. Includes light refreshments.
