Have you ever encountered a patient in your clinical practice where you had difficulties communicating with them? If so, we need your help!
We are seeking orthoptists to participate in a focus group on your perspectives of working with patients with communication impairments, such as, those with autism and other developmental delays, post-stroke communication issues and conditions such as stuttering and age-related communication impairments. We are investigating current resources to support communication and strategies used by orthoptists when communicating with these patients. We hope that this information will lead to the development of resources and training for orthoptists and speech pathologists.
The UTS human research ethics committee (HREC) approval number for this project is ETH21-6030 and this study is being conducted by Sonia Lau, Dr Amanda French and A/Prof Emma Power.
